San Diego Chargers continued.

1-10-WAS 19 (15:00) M.Bennett left tackle to WAS 15 for 4 yards (C.Griffin).

2-6-WAS 15 (14:29) M.Bennett right tackle to WAS 12 for 3 yards (A.Montgomery, R.McIntosh).

3-3-WAS 12 (13:43) (Shotgun) B.Volek pass short right to C.Davis to WAS 4 for 8 yards (K.Moore).

1-4-WAS 4 (13:04) M.Bennett up the middle to WAS 8 for -4 yards (R.McIntosh, H.Blades).

Kedric Golston stands up the LG, and the LT zeroes in on Fletcher so Rocky is able to shoot the gap. The TE is responsible for Carter and the FB has to deal with Orakpo so Blades also has a clear path to the backfield.


2-8-WAS 8 (12:22) M.Bennett right tackle to WAS 6 for 2 yards (K.Golston, L.Alexander).

Lorenzo Alexander, at LDT, pushes the RG into the backfield and forces the RB to cut inside, where he is stopped by Golston who has ridden the LG across the field and then shed the block.

Jason makes a bad throw well behind Randle-El on a slant. It should be picked off but it bounces off the DB’s hands and Randle-El manages to snare it on his way to the ground.

A DT drives Edwin Williams into the backfield and Mason is forced to cut prematurely.

2-10-WAS 43 (9:12) J.Campbell pass incomplete short left to S.Moss (T.Johnson).

3-10-WAS 43 (9:07) (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass short right to R.Cartwright ran ob at SD 38 for 19 yards (P.Oliver).

Rock gets the ball as a dumpoff and puts on a very nice move that leaves a DB on the ground, then the first down is secured by a good downfield block from Fred Davis.

1-10-SD 38 (8:46) M.Mason left end to SD 38 for no gain (A.Garay, B.Siler).

Fred Davis is unable to secure the corner against the OLB, so Mason is forced to cut inside where he is stopped by an ILB who beat Levi Jones’ block.

2-10-SD 38 (8:09) J.Campbell pass deep left to S.Moss to SD 22 for 16 yards (A.Cason).

1-10-SD 22 (7:27) J.Campbell pass short right to M.Kelly to SD 10 for 12 yards (K.Ellison).

Kelly takes the hitch and puts a good move on the CB, then outruns an ILB to get to the first down marker.

1-10-SD 10 (6:49) M.Mason up the middle to SD 5 for 5 yards (T.Dobbins, A.Garay).

2-5-SD 5 (6:05) J.Campbell pass short right to M.Sellers to SD 2 for 3 yards (K.Burnett).

Sellers lines up at FB but then motions out to the right. The two WRs on the right run inside slants with the idea of getting Sellers open in the flat, but an ILB is tracking him from the beginning and stops him.

3-2-SD 2 (5:22) J.Campbell pass short middle to T.Yoder for 2 yards, TOUCHDOWN.

Yoder is one of twins TEs right with Fred Davis, while Lorenzo Alexander is at LTE. Both Davis and Yoder run shallow drag routs to tangle up the inside defenders, while Yoder initially puts an outside moves on his DB, fools him completely, and then pops wide open in the back of the end zone.

G.Gano extra point is GOOD, Center-E.Albright, Holder-H.Smith.

San Diego Chargers at 5:16, (1st play from scrimmage 5:11)

1-10-SD 26 (5:11) B.Volek pass short middle to M.Bennett to SD 42 for 16 yards (D.Hall).

RB takes the pass on a checkdown. Orakpo is right there but is badly beaten by the RB’s little stutter-step.

1-10-SD 42 (4:32) M.Bennett right tackle to SD 41 for -1 yards (C.Griffin).

Griffin and the unidentified LDE collapse the right side of the O-line.

2-11-SD 41 (3:50) (Shotgun) B.Volek pass short right to K.Wilson to SD 44 for 3 yards (R.McIntosh).

3-8-SD 44 (3:07) (Shotgun) B.Volek pass incomplete short right to K.Osgood (K.Moore).
San Diego challenged the pass completion ruling, and the play was Upheld. (Timeout #2.)

Carter drives past the RT’s outside shoulder but Volek escapes to the outside. He throws on the run but its high and Moore is able to force the WR out of bounds.

4-8-SD 44 (2:59) M.Scifres punts 44 yards to WAS 12, Center-D.Binn, fair catch by A.Randle El.

1-10-WAS 12 (2:51) (Shotgun) J.Campbell pass deep left to M.Kelly to SD 4 for 84 yards (A.Cason).

Kelly runs a go out of the slot. The CB passes him off to a safety, but the safety is slow getting over because he is threatened by Davis running a skinny post.

Sellers motions to RTE, where he holds a block long enough for the Chargers to forget about him as a potential receiver. He then lets the pass rusher go and comes free in the flat.
