I started this before training camp in 2009 thinking that I would probably experiment with it for a month or two, no one but my immediate circle of friends and family would read it, and then I would lose interest and move on. But then it sort of took on a life of its own. The fact that this thing actually got noticed, and that so many of you actually made it a point to read it regularly, is immensely gratifying. And of course it's been an enormous amount of fun.
I'll still be around. I'll certainly still be checking in on Twitter, as it has turned out a great way to keep engaged in the ongoing Redskins conversation. Like a sports bar but cheaper.
So... thanks for reading my ridiculous little football blog, folks.

ReplyDeleteBest Wishes Dave,
ReplyDeleteSM was/is a great read and I hope that one day you go back to it. I myself have been having difficulty sitting down and writing lately....I blame the lockout and the poor performance along with my work schedule, but I digress....
Always welcome to guest blog on IIWII if you feel like it.

ReplyDeleteIt's been great reading your blog over the last couple of years; the game reviews in particular were very well-written and informative, and the only thing of that type which I've ever been able to find online, for any NFL team.
You've done a remarkable job of dissecting schemes through a couple of different coaching regimes, and I've truly enjoyed how you highlight special teams and role players' contributions over the last three seasons. Your readers are much more knowledgeable about the game of football for your efforts. Thanks for your work and your writing - Staying Medium has been a staple of my weekly football reading for quite awhile.
Best wishes!
As others have noted, this is the best Redskins blog out there. I, for one, will miss your careful and insightful analysis. I really felt that I learned more about the game from your remarkable analysis of the individual match ups and schemes. We will miss you greatly. Take a break and come back next year. This season is lost anyway. All the best.
ReplyDeleteNooo... I'm seriously bummed out. Your word was Redskins gospel to me and I'd quote it religiously to my friends.
ReplyDeleteI do admit, after the losses especially the posts could be a hard read so I can imagine them being just as tuff to write. Please, please at least to a weekly summary or something along those lines. Respect. Hail.
Thanks for all the writeups and hopefully, you get the itch to do it again. Enjoy the free time and stay medium. =)

ReplyDeleteGreat work. I can't see you staying away for long. Too many ideas going thru your head. Thanks for the great run!
